About Bob

Born in 1964 and raised in Battle, near Hastings, Bob Deeley has lived a life shaped by the land. After an electronics apprenticeship, he spent twenty years working outdoors — first as a herdsman and farmhand across Dorset, Kent and Northumberland, then a decade as a studman and event groom in Northumberland. Those years spent close to the natural world gave him an instinctive feel for light, season and landscape that no classroom could teach. Today he lives in Cullompton, cares for his mother, and still finds time to pick up a ukulele — and, above all, to take photographs.

Bob turned to photography in 2000 and by 2006 it had become a serious pursuit. His images carry the unhurried attention of someone who knows how to read a landscape — patient, observant, content to wait for the light. He has also kept a deep connection to Hastings, where he lived for nearly twenty-five years across two chapters of his life, drawn back by its musical soul, its vivid characters and the events that define the town: Jack in the Green, the May Day biker run, Bonfire Night blazing along the promenade. One of Bob's enduring pleasures is simply walking on the beach and watching the sun go down — the same quiet patience that finds its way into every frame he shoots.

The Prints

Every print is produced on 200gsm enhanced matte art paper — a premium fine art stock with a smooth, clean surface and a natural white tone that renders colour faithfully and without glare. The matte finish brings out the full tonal range of each photograph, from deep shadows to bright highlights, exactly as Bob intended.

Framed Prints

If you'd like to skip the trip to a frame shop, the framed option arrives ready to hang — the print is mounted inside a solid wood frame with a satin finish, glazed, and fitted with a hanging hook on the back. Just put it on the wall.

Frames are available in eight colours to suit any interior: Black, White, Natural, Brown, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Gold, and Silver. The frame size matches the print size — so an A4 print comes in an A4 frame.
